Nursery to 2yrs

The VRL Nursery is a loving and peaceful environment designed to care for and nurture babies through two-year olds. It is divided by developmental stages: Cuddlers and Crawlers, Walkers and Talkers, and 2 year olds.

There are several things that you can do to make sure your child has a good experience each Sunday.

  • Dress your child for play and learning. If your child is potty training, please use pull-ups for church and send an extra outfit.
  • Label all of your child’s belongings.
  • Pack a diaper bag with diapers, wipes, and a bottle or sippy-cup for children two and under.
  • Give teachers information regarding teething problems, feeding instructions, allergies, medical conditions, special needs, etc.
  • Follow security procedures for both arrival and departure times.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How old does my child have to be to start attending the nursery?
Our recommendation is that your child be at least six weeks old prior to bringing him/her into the VRL nursery.

Where is the Nursery?
As you come into the community center, the children’s wing is on the east side of the building. If you are visiting for the first time, check your child(ren) in at the front desk and one of our volunteers will direct you to your child’s classroom.

How will you contact me if my child needs me?
When you check your child in, you will receive a number that is specifically designated to your child. If we need you for any reason, we will display your number on the screens located at the front of the auditorium. If you see the number, please return to your child’s classroom.

Is there a private area for nursing mothers?
There is an area available in the nursery for nursing mothers.

Will my child have the same teacher each week?
Yes. All of our classes have a Lead Teacher and a Class Shepherd that are there each week, as well as the appropriate amount of help to maintain a pleasant and safe experience.

How can parents get involved in their child’s experience at church?
We believe the best way for parents to be involved in what their child is learning is to become a part of the team that teaches them. There are opportunities to greet, teach, lead worship or help in many of the classrooms.
