  • Most Valuable Player of the Year    (Matt King, 6/29/2008)
Moses was a remarkable man and probably one of the most difficult individuals to write an epitaph for. He is the recognized leader of one of the most significant freedom movements in all of history. But tragically, he never led them into the promise land. He is credited as being the original lawgiver and his likeness to this day still adorns the halls of congress; but was guilty of breaking many laws himself. Moses stuttered when he spoke yet was the spokesman to millions. Moses was a tool…plain and simple, and God used him like a leatherman…listen to audio | video not available

  • Babe of the Year    (Matt King, 6/8/2008)
Esther is perhaps one of the most interesting people in the entire bible to me. The book itself never once mentions the name of God and the story is one of the best dramas ever written. But what would she be remembered as? A gorgeous sexy woman who because of her beauty and sexual prowess saved the Israelites from annihilation? Maybe, but Esther sacrificed everything for God and His plan…becoming one of the greatest missionaries ever.listen to audio | video not available
  • Finish Strong    (Matt King, 6/1/2008)
Abraham has always been viewed as the true patriarch of the Israelite nation but is that what his epitaph would say? “Father to a nation” Probably not…but it might say “Finished strong”. • Smorgasbord    (Matt King, 5/18/2008)
Another lesson in nature that translates into our spiritual life is that no two blooms are the same…no two plants…nothing is the same…we are all so alike in many ways yet we are uniquely designed and created for uniquely different lives. So why are we often times so obsessed with trying to fit everyone into the same mold…God likes variety.listen to audio | video not available
  • A Load To Bear    (Matt King, 5/11/2008)
There’s a principle in nature that’s true in our spiritual life as well…the bigger the branch the more weight it must carry. We who are spiritually mature should be able to help support others until they grow strong enough to stand on their own. listen to audio | video not available

Do you know the difference between the things that are yours and the things entrusted to you? Would you say that your responsibilities change because of those differences? Go BIG
  • Legate Before Legacy    (Matt King, 3/23/2008)
Not many know what a legate is. It’s where we actually get the word legacy. A legate is an official representative which is what we are supposed to be for God. To leave a legacy is to pass something on to another who would come after us. How essential it is that we truly become a legate of God so that the legacy we leave is one that is worthy of praise. audio not available | video not available
  • The Puppet Show    (Matt King, 3/16/2008)
In Mark 8:34 Jesus makes it clear what’s required to follow Him. We must choose to pursue Gods’ interests over our own and then publicly demonstrate our submission to Him. Whether we know it or not, we’re not in control of our lives. We can however, choose who will control us; Satan or Christ. The greatest illusion ever is that we’re in control. Like a puppet on a string we are, choose who will pull your strings… listen to audio | video not available
  • Good, Better, Best and Bad    (Matt King, 3/9/2008)
Jesus sends out His disciples to spread the Gospel. We’ve been sent to spread the Gospel as well. There’s a good way, a better way, and a best way. There’s even a bad way.listen to audio | video not available
  • DUH!    (Matt King, 3/2/2008)
In spite of everything BIG Jesus had done His disciples still didn’t really get it…they still didn’t understand who Jesus really was…the Son of God. Do we get it? If the disciples had gotten it they could have simply enjoyed the ride…Mark 4:35-41listen to audio | video not available
  • A Broken plow    (Matt King, 2/24/2008)
Jesus made people think…He constantly was challenging them to use their minds by telling them stories. One of the first He ever told publicly was the story of the four soils. So many things can hold us back and stop us from going BIG. What is my stone…what is my thorn…what is the obstacle in my life that keeps me from living BIG for God…what is the thorn that keeps annoying me and distracting me…what needs to happen to make me into a soil capable of going BIG. Mark 4:1-20listen to audio | video not available
  • The Family Feud    (Matt King, 2/10/2008)
Going against family can be BIG in the life of a Christian. Jesus knew this all to well and there are many instances where it appeared that Jesus was at odds with His whole family. Mark 3:31-35listen to audio | video not available
  • Leave It All On The Field    (Matt King, 2/3/2008)
Dying for a purpose or cause wasn’t introduced by Christ…many have died or have been willing to die for numerous reasons in history. But when it’s a sacrificial death like when a person takes the bullet, or gets hit by the bus shortly after pushing a frightened child out of the way. Well… There’s something more noble in it…something so powerful is proclaimed by a sacrificial death like that. And it’s that kind of person that we all want to be…we all hope we will be in the moment. But those moments do come and they come in small ways…but as everybody knows…BIG things come in small packages. How sacrifice is honored BIG in this world.listen to audio | video not available
  • Circus Circus    (Matt King, 1/27/2008)
Healing people was one of the BIGGEST attractions Jesus ever provided and for good reason…many were sick and/or demon possessed. So whenever someone was healed miraculously the news spread fast and soon a crowd would gather to watch or be healed themselves. Of all the healings Jesus performed perhaps none was more strategic than the healing of the man with the deformed hand (Mark 3:1-6). The Pharisees, from that point on, played exactly into Gods’ plan to kill Jesus. What a tough moment and how cool that Jesus went BIG and followed through with Gods’ plan in spite of knowing it would lead to His eventual death.listen to audio | video not available
  • Recruits    (Matt King, 1/20/2008)
After leaving the wilderness Jesus began assembling an “A-Team” as if that was the first part of His strategy for going BIG. Before He began any of His public ministry He started pulling men from various walks of life to form a band of brothers that together would transform the world. Jesus did this because He knew He couldn’t make it alone. There are no Lone Rangers in Christianity. Not even the Messiah could make it alone and we can’t either.listen to audio | video not available
  • Boot Camp    (Matt King, 1/13/2008)
Immediately after choosing to live for God and go BIG, Jesus had to endure an extreme amount of hardship…almost like spiritual boot camp…why? What purpose did this serve? This excursion into the wilderness is where God prepared Jesus to go BIG. Going BIG takes discipline, perseverance and some t.l.c. from God. Christ learned the plan and the strategy from His Father while in the wilderness.listen to audio | video not available
  • BIG Things Come In Small Packages    (Matt King, 1/6/2008)
Jesus calls His disciples to notice how a small amount given by a widow was actually going BIG by comparison. How our definition of BIG and God’s definition may differ… listen to audio | video not available
